Oh, absoLUTEly they do. No question!!!!

I just think we should not add fuel to that fire. I think it would be more
effective to protest this under the umbrella of OWS. Maybe during the
next big protest, somewhere, have all the women in front of the *line*,
or better yet, marching inside the group, perhaps with placards reading
all the same ... Solidarity within solidarity (or something
like that...) Nothing like visuals to get the point across.

Agree with all of the above, except

I'll do you one better.

I'm having a pre-noon drink. I've lifted the glass skyward, watched
the lovely spring sunlight dance on my cheap WalMart glass and declared:

Ding Dong the Dick is Dead.

Now, I've never celebrated someone's demise before. I certainly wouldn't
celebrate the gawds-awful life that someone with his illness must have suffered.

HOWEVER: History seems to show that people who suffer AND show compassion
at the same time party harder in the afterlife.

Just one woman's tipsy opinion.

etc., etc., etc.

I'm beginning to see red, too.

I can barely read about this shit that is happening without finding my
jaw clenched and my teeth grinding away ...

IMO, though, I think women turning out in huge numbers in front of
their reps office all over the place will be the most effective. The *Not Tonight, Dear*
idea is clever, but it could put women in this light of being kind of
these manipulative creatures, insubordinate, disrespectful to the big bad hubby, etc. --
at least I think some could interpret it that way.

Huge numbers, everywhere. Personally, I've always been a fan of silent protests and
will suggest them as often as I can to anyone listening.
Every last one of them -- "Listen for the damned pindrop, people!!!"
Not only does it put a fine point on the excellent organizing ability of GAs,
but it could help to isolate Black Bloc as well.

Just one woman's random thoughts/opinions...

A late night idea for Occupy.

It's late, and my brain can be particularly foggy at this point, so ... Hope I'm putting
this post in the correct area ... I'm also homebound, close to bedridden, so I cannot get to a GA.

How about:

A whole boatload of metal coathangers with the following attached (or combinations thereof):

1. Metal coat-hanger with the words: Not Appropriate for Choice
2. A snipped-off condom with the words: Not in MY Body
3. (This may be off-putting?) A large/long pink Komen ribbon with the words: Not in Attendance
4. A length of surgical tubing with the words: Rape Us (Not!)
5. Pill containers (tied on with Komen ribbons?) with the words: (not-equal-to sign) Prostate Cancer

A large group of women/men carrying these (maybe the hook of the hanger
attached to fronts of one's shirt) could be protesting in absolute silence ...
